Symposium Objectives:

Upon completion of the symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify current methods of diagnosing medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS)
  2. Compare and contrast treatment methods for MTSS and the associated return to running timelines.
  3. Identify current best practices in the development of an ACL rehabilitation protocol, including return to activity considerations.
  4. Identify how a person's job impacts stress and common methods for dealing with stress.
  5. Identify the modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for Female Athlete Triad that determine the athlete’s overall risk for participation
  6. Discuss breathing and diaphragm function in relation to core stability and low back pain
  7. Implement common clinical breathing assessments and breathing exercises into clinical practice.



The AzATA is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers.  A total of 9.25 Category A CEU’s and 3 EBP Category CEU's will be provided for those attending the entire duration of the meeting. According to the education levels described by the PDC Committee of the NATA, the following continuing education course is considered to be Essential Level.

  • A 100% refund will be given with a written request to Natasha Anderson (treasurer@azata.net) before June 30, 2017. After this date, no refunds will be given.
  • Membership will be verified online using the latest NATA/AzATA records.  Individuals whose membership lapses prior to the start of the Summer Meeting will receive an invoice at the time of check-in in the amount of the difference between member and non-member registration for the category and day/days for which he/she registered.
  • A fee of $10.00 will be assessed for any returned check.
  • Recommended meeting attire is professional dress suitable for lab activities.
