This year the high school student aid session is being conducted in partnership with HOSA.  All high school students are invited to attend. Registration fees of $35 (early, regular) include educational programming. HOSA members wishing to participate in the competition need to register through the HOSA events website at http://www.azhosa.org.

This year the Summer Clinical Symposium is excited to announce a "Lab Focused" session on Sunday, with over 4 hours of hands on practice in the assessment and rehabilitation of concussion. Attendees will gain valuable experience and repetition in a variety of concussion assessment and rehabilitation techniques.

Symposium Objectives:

Upon completion of the symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe lower crossed syndrome, affected population, and identify how to correct/prevent it through OSHA first-aid protocols
  2. Describe the complexity of creating exercise adherence and the risk of non-adherence
  3. Describe and apply behavior change theory to improve exercise adherence
  4. Identify and discuss appropriate terminology recommended by the AzATA, BOC, CAATE, and NATA in relation to degrees, education, titles, facilities, and clinical skills.
  5. Describe ways to engage with supervisors, the media, legislators and community members to advance understanding of our profession.
  6. Demonstrate manual therapy techniques to treat adverse neural tension
  7. Demonstrate administration of objective concussion assessments specific to particular aspect of impairment
  8. Demonstrate concussion rehabilitation techniques for a variety of associated signs and symptoms.

 



The AzATA is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers.  A total of 9 Category A CEU’s and 2.5 EBP Category CEU's will be provided for those attending the entire duration of the meeting. According to the education levels described by the PDC Committee of the NATA, the following continuing education course is considered to be Essential Level.

  • If you wish to pay by PO, please register online and provide the invoice to you to your school for payment.

  • A 100% refund will be given with a written request to Natasha Anderson (treasurer@azata.net) before June 30, 2018. After this date, no refunds will be given.
  • Membership will be verified online using the latest NATA/AzATA records.  Individuals whose membership lapses prior to the start of the Summer Meeting will receive an invoice at the time of check-in in the amount of the difference between member and non-member registration for the category and day/days for which he/she registered.
  • A fee of $10.00 will be assessed for any returned check.
  • Recommended meeting attire is professional dress suitable for lab activities.
